..... has been playing guitar and singing since he was thirteen years old. His musical roots go back even further to when he was six years old. "I first heard Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs on the "Beverly Hillbillies" T.V. show and fell in love with bluegrass music."

At the age of 16, Pete spent his summer touring the Province of Ontario with a musical group called "SummerSounds '72. "We were a government sponsored tour of about 60 teenagers travelling as two separate groups. We toured all over Ontario, playing in almost every kind of venue from high school auditoriums, hockey arenas and city parks, to the National Art Centre in Ottawa and Ontario Place in Toronto."

In 1981, Pete formed the widely acclaimed bluegrass band "Blue Mule" and for the next nineteen years performed extensively throughout Canada and the U.S. at folk and bluegrass festivals.

"... we played festivals in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Alberta, British Columbia, as well as New York, Minnesota, Ohio, Maine, Washington state and at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee ..."

In 2001, Pete formed the band "Pete Deachman & Handsome Molly" and has been performing music ever since. While still playing in the band, he is also playing more solo gigs...

"I love performing with just me and my guitar. I am writing and performing original material, as well as songs new and old by some of my musical heroes. I've been influenced by the likes of Bill Monroe, Woody Guthrie, Rambin' Jack Elliott, John Prine, Guy Clark, Shawn Camp, Steve Goodman, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Ruzika and many more..."

"A good song is a good story and I've got many stories to tell ! " ...

"Come all you oldtime cowboys and listen to my song...
Please do not grow weary, I won't detain you long"
